Maintained and upgraded a WordPress + WooCommerce store, implementing custom checkout validation and multiple one-off scripts to correct VAT, shipping tax, and order totals consistency.
PoianaFermecata.ro is a WordPress + WooCommerce e-commerce website where I handled theme modernization and added business-critical customizations in the theme functions layer.
Beyond standard WooCommerce setup, the work focused on stability of financial data (VAT/shipping/totals), payment compatibility, and admin productivity:
Theme modernization / compatibility work
Updated the theme to stay compatible with current WooCommerce versions and reduce template override issues.
Order accounting fixes (VAT, shipping tax, totals) — “run once” admin utilities
Implemented multiple controlled, admin-only scripts (triggered via query params) to repair historical or edge-case orders:
add a small rounding adjustment fee
resync line-item tax class with product tax class and recalculate
enforce shipping tax as 0% while keeping shipping amount fixed
convert product line totals from gross to net and rebuild tax totals
rebuild tax summary lines from order item taxes only
These tools were designed for surgical corrections without breaking WooCommerce’s order history.
Checkout validation improvement
Enforced required county/state fields for both billing and shipping to reduce incomplete orders and delivery issues.
Admin enhancements for operations
Added custom columns in WooCommerce Orders list to calculate and display commission percent and commission amount (RON) based on shipping method, improving operational visibility for each order.
Custom shop UI layout (CSS)
Implemented a responsive product grid and pagination styling adjustments to improve browsing and mobile usability.
Content & media contribution
Created the first batches of product images and hosted them on AnyBusiness.ro infrastructure (same hosting ecosystem as your current portfolio site), ensuring optimized assets and reliable delivery.
